1st Mariner Arena
An intense soccer game + awesome music = a crazy fun night for local youth groups. The Baltimore Blast is our indoor soccer league that plays at 1st Mariner Arena. They are a great team that hosts many nights for the community, including Christian Youth Night. Our station, 95.1FM WRBS, partners with them every year to present this night. The kids practically race up and down the hallways in excitement. This year's act was Thousand Foot Krutch. Their songs "Rawkfist" and "Move" have been used at a ton of sporting events, including being used by the NFL.
The Blast have yet to lose a Christian Youth Night. The ended up beating the Monterrey La Raza 16-9!
All the churches and youth groups are read aloud during the game. It's always fun to hear the different youth groups cheer for their church when their name is announced.
During the 4th Quarter of the game, the youth groups line up on the lower level of the arena and after the soccer game, they are allowed to watch the concert on the soccer field.
This Brody Bond of Blood:Water Baltimore. Blood:Water works to help make people aware of the water crisis in Africa, and to raise money to build clean-water wells.
Let's just say, when the security pulls the first line of gates back, I don't want to be anywhere near the stampeding teens!
Thousand Foot Krutch rocks the house!!
